NEPEAN GEORGE DRIVE project.

How to elevate an interior

We loved this job for many reasons. This client came to us with a brief of finishing and furnishing this new build so it felt resolved and completed.

It really was a blank canvas.

From window coverings, to furniture, decorator, and custom joinery pieces…. they all played a part in elevating the home to a beautiful considered space. We started in the master and had a custom luxe bedhead made and installed wall to wall curtains, new furniture and decorator pieces tied it all together. We were stuck with a split air con so we kept the art bold and low and the bedhead in a strong colour to draw the eye to those pieces away from the aircon unit.

The earthy, moody, modern vibe, is carried through to the main living zone, which consists of an open plan kitchen dining and lounge. We used a combination of marble, timber, texture and pattern and found it to be a perfect balance of masculine and feminine. Using faux foliage, is also a great way to bring in texture and nature, giving softness and personality to a room in a really neutral way. Choice of foliage over floral ensures it still feels masculine.

The hero that really elevated the space is the custom ETU that we co-designed with Cobbitty Grove Kitchens. A nervous client (who thought it might be too big for the space) could not have been more happy, with the finished product. We blended that super large TV as best we could, and taking this feature to the ceiling whilst grounding it on a white base - makes the room feel so much larger.

Simple styling on the open shelves allowed us to play and bring in some small touches that make the house feel like a home.

Definitely worth all the hurdles to get to the finish line on this one.
