2020 - A year in review

It is difficult to find words to describe the year that 2020 has been. We have definitely been through its challenges together - across the state, country and globe - yet we’ve each had a slightly different experience of it.

At the beginning of 2020, we set out with the aim to share more, engage more, and publish a few blogs - and somehow, we think we did it!

Because of the trust of our beautiful clients - existing and new - our small-but-mighty team has been able to keep somewhat distracted (at least at times) with more projects than we could have imagined, and are so grateful and honoured that our clients chose us to make a difference in their space, and hopefully in their lives.

Here a just a few highlights of projects completed or shared throughout the year (with many awaiting final styling and photography, and others patiently awaiting deliveries due to prolonged delays that are out of everyone’s control! - we will be sure to share these early in the year, and they’ll just have to fall into the 2021 year in review!!)

The Grasmere project

Completed right at the very end of 2019, yet shared with you in 2020 (which is why we’ve included it here!), this open plan transformation remains a firm favourite, and for so many good reasons. Read more about it here. Stay tuned for more gorgeousness coming early in 2021 from a few more spaces within this stunning home!

The transitional farmhouse

Designed with a very specific purpose in mind, we were involved from concept right through to styled-for-display completion. Read more about it here.

The teenage girls room

Layers of colour and pattern work playfully in this room to reflect the sweet personality of our client. The surprise birthday reveal literally brought tears to our eyes! Read more about it here.

The teenage boys room

Masculine, bold, confident, and very much tailored to our teenage client - this is the perfect boys room! Find all the details here.

The tween girls room

Serene, relaxed, bright and playful - the perfect room for this young lady to enjoy and grow with. It is so much fun (and such a privilege) to be part of special surprise reveals for beautiful young people!

The Elderslie project

A beautiful transformation that has not only added functionality, but a whole lot of beauty too! You all loved this on social media, and we will be bringing you a blog post with a few more details soon!

Melanie Redman Design office

We cannot forget that, amongst all of it, we decided to update the office - new bespoke joinery, designed in house and built by Cobbitty Grove Kitchens (perfectly designed to fit exactly what we need it to), flooring, desks, chairs and window furnishings (with artwork and lighting to come!). It has completely transformed the space and it is so beautiful to work in. We will share some photos in the new year, and hopefully you have the chance the come and enjoy it too!

The year to come…2021…

In 2021, we are committed to producing even more beautiful, practical, unique spaces for our clients, and to take lots of pretty photos at the end of the projects (just before we step away and let our beautiful clients enjoy the space for themselves! Ha! Fewer visiting restrictions will make this easier too). Of course we will share them with you, along with lots of practical tips and advice that you can apply to your own home.

Wishing you a very Merry Christmas and a healthy, happy, joyful New Year.
